One of the perks of living in Southern California
is our perfect year round weather of course. So, on this first weekend of 2013, we invited some friends over for a relaxed little lunch in the backyard. Of course, I MUST always have a theme,
and BARNYARD In the SUBURBS sounded perfectly fit!
I dug around and found this old fabric I used to make
a prop for my daughter's 3rd grade biography project last year, and instantly saw an opportunity to create these simple "country" napkins. No sewing, just raw and rustic. And what better napkin ring to fit the barnyard theme than this chunky "LASSO" lightly twisted around the napkin.
This adorable rusty little lantern made for the perfect,
centerpiece and completed my Barnyard in the Suburbs vignette.
This perfect little table in the middle of our backyard, brought the
Barnyard to the Suburbs even if only for a day.
The best part of creating this vignette was being able to use materials I already had.
