Burlap Christmas Stockings...
This week has been quite a week.
Fighting a cold which has kept me
down the entire week, I was finally
feeling somewhat able to do a little
more holiday decorating inside the house.
Last year I sewed these simple burlap stockings,
and they seemed to have held up in the holiday
decor bin quite nicely. The best part is that
they didn't even need
ironing!
The stockings were super easy to make.
I used about three yards of burlap, if I recall correctly.
I also added the white fabric trim on the top by
using some leftover fabric I had on hand last year.
Using small burlap scraps, I attached a hanging flap
for easy hanging on the mantel.
I added wooden monogram letters and adhered them to
the stockings using a hot glue gun, and PRESTO!
I'm so happy they survived one year of laying inside
my holiday bin.
This year I didn't go overboard with the mantel..although,
knowing myself, I'm sure more will be added as the days go by.
But for now, I am very pleased how my 2013 mantel turned out.
Here are a few pics of my 2013 Holiday Mantel...
The Burlap PEACE banner was also from last year's design..
I love how it coordinates with my burlap stockings.
I decorated the sconces on the fireplace wall by adding a little
greenery. Nothing fancy, just a dusting of some holiday cheer.
Happy Holidays!
