I can't believe it's the last day of January.
It feels like it was just yesterday that I was decorating
our mantel for the holidays, and here I am, decorating
the mantel for Valentine's Day! Boy, time sure does fly by.
So here you go, Our Valentine's LOVE Mantel 2013...
I picked up these adorable glittery little Valentine's Ornament hearts at Michael's. I wasn't sure how I would use them, but they were too cute to pass up!
During the holidays, my hubby surprised me with this
red shimmery branch bundle (he knows what I like)
that he picked up at the market of all places! It looked beautiful as part of our console table Christmas vignette.
While we were storing away our holiday decor in the garage, I made sure to keep this little beauty at arms reach, because I had a feeling I'd find a good way to incorporate him into my Valentine's decor! And I was right! This little beauty was perfect for hanging the adorable glittery ornament hearts!
I love the way the glittery hearts and the shimmery branch bundle pick up the lights from the candles, and I love how the lights bounce off our crisp white mantel.
I purchased these cute red mercury glass votive holders at Michael's, and they add an extra shimmer to the mantel.
I placed small faux hydrangea bushels all the way across to add texture and a soft touch to the vignette.
I wanted to incorporate a subtle little Valentine's message,
and these adorable sparkly letters are the perfect touch.
I guess you can say this is my Valentine's "mistletoe!"
Our mantel is beautiful all on it's own with it's crisp white moldings, so there was no need to overwhelm it with tons of color.
By only adding red accents, I was able to maintain a color scheme that worked against the beautiful white background.
So there you have it, my white and red Valentine's LOVE mantel...
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with LOVE!
And now these three remain, faith, hope, and Love. And the greatest of these is LOVE.
